Would you like to have the ability to run Linux within Windows 7 or vice versa. Read on…
So you want to have the ability to run two operating systems side by side. This is possible if you have the right software. I personally recommend you as users to try and get hold of VMWare Workstation 7. With this program you have the ability to run Linux or Windows on a virtual machine through your main host machine. The advantage of using VM Ware is the fact you have the ability to run not one but two operating systems side by side without have to simultaneously log off and log on to the other system.
If your interested and want to have this ability click the following link and download the trial or either purchase the program. http://www.vmware.com/products/workstation/
Having purchased or downloaded the program and installed it on to your system the following steps will now explain how to install Linux within Microsoft Windows 7.
1) Select File > New > Virtual Machine
2) Select typical > Select next
At this stage the program asks you whether you have an avaliable CD or simply install from the ISO. If your wishing to install Ubuntu the following link is available http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download.
3) When clicking next the program will ask you to enter your full name, organisation and password.
4) Select your directory. Where do you wish to install the VMWare.
5) Having chosen your specified directory, the program will then ask you what size hard disk would you like. The following image is as shown.
6) Having clicked next the program will give you an overview as to what is being installed.
7) From this you should leave the laptop or PC to install the operating system and all should go well.

Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business
Here is an American economist Chris Anderson, by now for students at Kingston University in the CISM department should know about Chris Anderson and his view on why 'Free!' is a new marketing method in making more money. Who at are your views on Chris Anderson's 'Free' article. Do you think what he is saying is some form of story which has no ending and that he is incorrect. Or do you think what he is saying about the market is true and the way businesses are now using subsidies to entice customers into buying more of the specific product.

Performance tweaks that you will make you and your computer happy =]
If you are currently running Windows XP...You need to upgrade. Jokes. Below are a few tweaks that you may find useful.
- Run disk clean up. Simply go start>accessories>system tools>disk clean up. What this does is simply looks at all files on your computers hard drives and cleans up any unused files.
- Turn off Indexing to speed up XP. What XP does is keeps a record of all files on the hard disk so when you do a search on the hard drives. In order to speed up your computer performance you can simply turn this off by doing the following: Control panel > administrative tools>services>disable indexing services.
- Other performance tweaks for XP, Vista and Windows 7 include edititng some of the registry keys. Follow these steps then restart your computer. > Start - Run - Regedit. Then Navigate to the following Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control. Then in the right pane you should see entry name WaitToKillServiceTimeout. Double click that and change the value data from 2000 to 1000. What this basically does is shut downs service applications much efficiently and does not use a lot of CPU.
- Speed up the speed of your menu display - When you use your menu display you may not notice but there are minor delays. In order to get the best performance for your menu once again you need to enter the registry editior and follow the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop then Select MenuShowDelay, having navigated to this double click on the entry and change the value to 100.
- This tweak here applies to all windows platforms. If you want a faster boot up, simply go start>run>msconfig>services tab>click disable all services. What this does is disables all services and saves memory.
- Another tweak for a faster boot up simply follow step 5 but when you get to the msconfig dialog box go to boot tab and select 'No GUI boot' and then click apply and ok. Then reboot your system. What this does is basically skips the graphical load up.
- Want to save disk space? Yes? Then simply disable the hibernation file. Ever thought how your computer has the ability to go into hibernation. What Windows does is it has a set amount of memory that is used for hibernation. This is called hiber.sys. This file is usually 600MB +. Now if your wanting to save space. Simply go start>run>cmd> powercfg -h off. Then reboot your system.
- Once again if your wanting to save space another tweak you can do to your computer is simply go start>control panel>system and maintenance>system>system restore>un-click system restore button. What tweak does is basically turns off system restore. You may already know this but when your computer has a fatal error it can restore it's self to a set date. What this tweak does is simply turns off your system restore. I would only personally recommend this to people who tend to maintain their computer on a regular basis.
- Disable Indexing Services - When you use your computer your programs need what is called a index page file which takes up a lot of your RAM memory. What an indexing service basically does is makes searching files much more quicker and much easier. Which I personally feel is useless. If your thinking exactly the same as me then do the following, start>control panel>system and maintenance>system>advanced>under performance click settings then go to advanced tab. At this point you should see a section called 'virtual memory' click change>un-tick the automatically manage paging file>then select 'No paging' click OK. Then reboot your system. I must mention that their is a risk with this performance tweak. The risk with this is that your computer may find it difficult to run multiple amount of programs at once, an example being windows explorer and windows media player open at the same time. One of the programs may need to be closed as the system does not have enough paging memory.
- Last but not least simply just remove any unnecessary programs and junk files that more or less are growing dust and watching the time past by.
